Our Story

The founder member of Connekt Planning Ltd is David Wordsworth, a Chartered Town Planner, who has worked for much of his professional life within the public sector in the North of England. He held positions within Local Planning Authorities including managerial posts of Principal Officer, Team Leader, and Group Leader and specialised in the processing of Major Planning Applications. The move from public sector to private company derived by a passion for helping people and a desire for obtaining greater autonomy as a freelance planner.  David’s journey in business included providing support for Local Planning Authorities as a contract planner at Local Authorities within Southern and the Eastern England in planning appeals against the refusal of permission for residential and renewable energy schemes.

David Wordsworth is an established member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Town & Country Planning and an Honours Degree in Environmental Planning. His expansive and wide-ranging experience of over 25 years includes work on development projects of significant scale and complexity within the following sectors:
